Buying imported hardware changes what matters. Cost, compliance and after-sales work differently than they would for a unit bought off a US shelf — here is how to read each one.
Landed cost, not sticker price
A hydrogen inhaler shipped into the US can arrive with duty, a customs brokerage fee and a carrier disbursement charge still outstanding — often several hundred dollars, payable before the machine is released. Our USD price is Delivered Duty Paid: freight, duty and clearance are settled before the unit leaves. State and district sales tax, where it applies, is calculated at checkout, so nothing is collected at your door.
Whether it is genuinely direct
Most US hydrogen inhaler listings are resold hardware with a distributor layer priced into them, and that layer is also who you have to argue with when a unit fails. You are buying from the team that specifies and sources the machines, which is why entry pricing starts at $1,795 rather than the $3,000–$6,000 typical of US retail for equivalent output.
FCC compliance for a US household
Any mains-powered electronic device sold for use in the US should meet FCC Part 15 Subpart B limits for radio frequency emissions. All HERO Inhaler & HERO Inhaler Pro series machines are compliant — independently tested to ANSI C63.4:2014 — alongside CE, RoHS, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. Plenty of grey-import listings simply have no US test report behind them at all.
Electrolysis technology and certified output
Only PEM/SPE — Proton Exchange Membrane / Solid Polymer Electrolyte — is worth buying. It splits purified water at the proton level and keeps hydrogen and oxygen in completely separate streams. Avoid alkaline or lye-electrolyte machines: contaminated gas, corrosive chemicals, ongoing servicing dependency. Purity is 99.991% at the hydrogen outlet, and every published flow rate is certified. Be wary of sellers quoting combined H₂+O₂ output as pure H₂ — in a correctly separated 2:1 system the pure H₂ figure is two-thirds of the combined total.
What after-sales actually looks like from the US
There is no US service depot behind these machines, and any seller claiming one for imported hardware is usually describing a mailbox. What we do instead: parts and replacement units ship from stock, warranty is assessed on evidence you send rather than by return-first policy, and change-of-mind returns are at your cost within 90 days. PEM/SPE electrolysis — how it works.
Water electrolysis produces hydrogen and oxygen in a fixed 2:1 molecular ratio. The PEM membrane keeps both gas streams physically separated inside the machine — the hydrogen outlet delivers pure H₂, the oxygen outlet delivers pure O₂. You choose how to use them:
Hydrogen only
Cannula on the hydrogen outlet. Pure H₂ at the rated flow — the standard daily configuration.
Combined H₂+O₂ (2:1)
Y-connector joins both outlets at the cannula, delivering full combined flow at the ratio electrolysis produces naturally. Y-connector included.
Two users, one machine
Dual cannula splits the hydrogen stream so two people share a single session. Available on selected models.
No lye. No contaminants. No consumables beyond distilled water and occasional cannula replacement.
Importing one to a US address — how it actually runs.
Landed cost and what you pay at the door
Orders ship Delivered Duty Paid. Freight, US import duty and customs clearance are settled before the machine leaves, so the carrier has nothing to collect and there is no brokerage or disbursement invoice to clear first. State and district sales tax, where it applies, is calculated at checkout in USD. That is the number to compare against a US retail listing — not the sticker price of a grey import.
Transit, customs and the domestic leg
Door-to-door tracked to all 50 states, typically 10 business days from dispatch. Every state is quoted the same window — West Coast, East Coast, Alaska, Hawaii and rural routes alike. Customs entry is filed by our broker under our account — you are never asked for a power of attorney or an entry number.
Power, plug and installation
Machines are dual-voltage 100–240V and ship fitted for a standard 120V / 60Hz NEMA 5-15 wall outlet, so no converter or travel adapter is involved. Give the unit clearance around its vents, run it on a hard level surface, and use distilled water only — municipal or filtered tap water will shorten membrane life.
FCC certification and US compliance
All HERO Inhaler & HERO Inhaler Pro series machines are FCC Part 15 Subpart B compliant, independently tested to ANSI C63.4:2014, confirming they meet US federal limits for radio frequency emissions. Regulatory status in the United States
Hydrogen Machines products are general wellness devices. Molecular hydrogen inhalation is not currently approved by the FDA as a medical treatment. Hydrogen gas is recognised as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) by the US FDA.
