What to look for in a hydrogen inhaler.
Five things decide whether a hydrogen inhaler is worth owning in Canada — four about the hardware, one about what happens when it reaches the border.
PEM/SPE electrolysis
PEM/SPE (Proton Exchange Membrane / Solid Polymer Electrolyte) splits purified water at the proton level and holds the hydrogen and oxygen streams apart inside the machine. The cheaper class of import runs an alkaline or lye electrolyte, which puts a caustic solution in your home, contaminants in the gas path and a servicing dependency on the seller. Every machine in our range is PEM/SPE.
A published purity number
99.991% pure H₂ at the hydrogen outlet, produced by the membrane rather than corrected by a downstream filter. Cross-border marketplace listings into Canada frequently omit purity altogether — a specification sheet with no purity figure is telling you something.
Certification stack
CE marking is internationally recognised and widely accepted for wellness devices imported into Canada. All HERO Inhaler and HERO Inhaler Pro machines carry CE alongside FCC, RoHS, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. Those marks describe hardware and manufacturing standards, not medical or therapeutic status — these are general wellness devices.
Certified flow rate
Flow is quoted in ml/min and should be certified rather than estimated. The range runs from 1,000 ml/min pure H₂ (HERO Inhaler Go) to 2,000 ml/min total output (HERO Inhaler 2000). Watch for combined H₂+O₂ output presented as pure hydrogen — in a correctly separated 2:1 system, pure H₂ is two-thirds of the combined figure.
Landed cost, not sticker price
The specific way Canadian orders go wrong is at the border: a low headline price, then GST/HST, duty and a courier brokerage fee weeks later. Duty and taxes here are prepaid before dispatch, so nothing is collected at the door and there is no disbursement invoice afterwards.

How the gas is actually made.
Electrolysis breaks water into hydrogen and oxygen at a fixed 2:1 molecular ratio. The proton exchange membrane keeps those two streams apart right through to the outlets — pure H₂ on one port, pure O₂ on the other — which is what makes three delivery modes possible from one machine:
Hydrogen only
Cannula on the hydrogen outlet — pure H₂ at the rated flow. The default mode for a daily 30–60 minute session.
Combined H₂+O₂ (2:1)
The included Y-connector joins both outlets at the cannula, delivering the full combined flow at the ratio electrolysis produces naturally. No artificial mixing.
Two users, one machine
A dual cannula splits the hydrogen stream so two people share one session — usually cheaper than a second machine for a household running a shared routine. Available on selected models.
No caustic electrolyte to store or handle, nothing introduced into the gas path, and no ongoing cost beyond distilled water and periodic cannula replacement. Canadian mains at 120V/60Hz sits inside the dual-voltage range, so the unit runs at rated output on a standard household outlet.

Delivery to Canada
We ship door-to-door tracked to all Canadian provinces and territories including British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and the Maritime provinces. Typical delivery is 10 business days from dispatch. Duties and taxes are prepaid before dispatch in most cases — the price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Where duties cannot be prepaid, they will be collected by the carrier on arrival and we will advise you at checkout.

Warranty and returns
Every machine carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty and a 90-day return window from the day it arrives. Warranty claims and returns are handled directly — no third-party service loop. Canadian buyers are responsible for return shipping costs on change-of-mind returns.
