What to look for in a hydrogen inhaler.
Five things separate a machine worth owning from a repackaged import — and a couple of them only matter once the unit has to cross a UK border and be supported afterwards.
PEM/SPE, not lye
A UK buyer comparing listings will meet two very different machines at similar prices. PEM/SPE (Proton Exchange Membrane / Solid Polymer Electrolyte) splits purified water at the proton level and keeps the hydrogen and oxygen streams physically apart. The cheaper alternative runs an alkaline or lye electrolyte, which means handling a caustic solution at home, contaminants in the gas path and a servicing dependency on whoever sold it to you. Every machine in our range is PEM/SPE.
A stated purity figure
99.991% pure H₂ at the hydrogen outlet, produced by the membrane itself rather than scrubbed by a downstream filter. UK marketplace listings routinely omit purity entirely. Treat a missing purity figure the way you would treat a missing efficiency rating on an appliance — the omission is the answer.
CE marking and the UKCA position
CE marking remains widely accepted for goods imported into Great Britain under current UKCA transitional arrangements, and it is the practical baseline for an imported electronic wellness device. All HERO Inhaler and HERO Inhaler Pro machines carry CE alongside FCC, RoHS, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. These describe hardware and manufacturing standards — not medical or therapeutic status.
Flow rate stated honestly
Flow is quoted in ml/min and should be a certified figure. Our range runs from 1,000 ml/min pure H₂ (HERO Inhaler Go) to 2,000 ml/min total output (HERO Inhaler 2000). The common trick is quoting combined H₂+O₂ output as though it were pure hydrogen; in a correctly separated 2:1 system the pure H₂ figure is always two-thirds of the combined total.
Who answers when it breaks
Most UK hydrogen listings are drop-shipped, so a fault becomes an email chain between you, a reseller and a factory. Warranty and diagnostics here are handled directly by the people who supply the machine, and replacement parts ship into the UK with duty prepaid.

Inside the machine: PEM/SPE electrolysis.
Electrolysis splits water into hydrogen and oxygen in a fixed 2:1 molecular ratio. The membrane holds the two streams apart all the way to the outlets, so the hydrogen port delivers pure H₂ and the oxygen port delivers pure O₂. That separation is what gives you three usable modes rather than one:
Hydrogen only
Cannula on the hydrogen outlet — pure H₂ at the rated flow. This is the mode most UK owners use for a daily 30–60 minute session.
Combined H₂+O₂ (2:1)
The included Y-connector joins both outlets at the cannula for full combined flow at the ratio electrolysis produces naturally. Nothing is artificially mixed.
Two users, one machine
A dual cannula splits the hydrogen stream so two people share a single session — the usual reason UK households size up rather than buying a second unit. Available on selected models.
Nothing caustic in the house, nothing added to the gas path, and no running cost beyond distilled water and the occasional cannula. UK mains at 230V/50Hz is inside the dual-voltage range, so the machine runs at rated output from a standard socket.

Freight and delivery windows
Every UK postcode is covered, tracked door to door — England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. Allow 10 business days from dispatch by express courier; Highlands, islands and Channel Islands addresses are quoted the same window. Duty and VAT are prepaid before the shipment leaves, so the checkout figure is the landed figure. In the rare case a destination cannot be prepaid, we tell you at checkout rather than letting the carrier surprise you.
CE, UKCA and what the marks actually cover
Every machine is CE marked against EU electrical safety, EMC and environmental directives, and CE remains accepted for goods placed on the Great Britain market under the current UKCA transitional position. We track that position and update documentation as it moves. The marks describe how the hardware is built and tested — not medical or therapeutic status. MHRA position and wellness classification
These are general wellness devices, sold as such. Molecular hydrogen inhalation is not licensed by the MHRA as a medical treatment, and nothing we publish claims to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. Hydrogen gas itself carries GRAS recognition from the US FDA. Read the research yourself and speak with a qualified health professional before adding any new routine.
Warranty, returns and statutory rights
24 months of manufacturer warranty from the day the machine lands, and 90 days to change your mind from the same date. Claims come straight to us rather than bouncing through a UK reseller, and parts ship in with duty prepaid. Change-of-mind returns are at your cost for return freight. None of this displaces your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
