Five questions worth asking before you buy in Australia.
Most of the risk in this category is not the machine — it is who sold it to you and what happens after the box arrives. These five decide it.
Who you are actually buying from
Most hydrogen inhalers sold into Australia come from an offshore listing with no local entity behind it. If something fails in month nine, there is no Australian business to hold responsible. We trade as YBG Group International Pty Ltd (ABN 22 636 934 999), invoice in AUD with GST, and answer warranty claims ourselves.
What the landed price really is
An advertised overseas price is rarely the price you pay. Australian buyers routinely get caught by GST on import, a customs brokerage fee, and a carrier disbursement charge collected before release. Our AUD price is the landed price: GST and duties are settled before dispatch and freight is included.
Plug, voltage and electrical fit
A machine that runs 20–60 minutes a day belongs on Australian mains without an adapter stack. Every unit is dual-voltage 100–240V and ships fitted with the Australian Type I (AS/NZS 3112) plug for 240V / 50Hz supply. No travel adapter, no step-down transformer, no daisy-chained power board.
Electrolysis technology and certified output
Only PEM/SPE — Proton Exchange Membrane / Solid Polymer Electrolyte — is worth buying. It splits purified water at the proton level and keeps the hydrogen and oxygen streams physically separate. Avoid alkaline or lye-electrolyte machines: corrosive chemicals, contaminated gas, ongoing servicing dependency. Hydrogen purity is 99.991% on the hydrogen outlet, and every flow rate we publish is a certified figure, not an estimate.
Whether support is in your timezone
Hydrogen inhalers are simple machines with a handful of failure points — cannula, water quality, humidifier seals. What matters is reaching someone who can diagnose it. Ours is a WhatsApp line answered Mon–Fri 9am–5pm AEST, not an overseas ticket queue running twelve hours behind you.
Full buyer's checklist — seven criteria explained in detail →
How PEM/SPE electrolysis works — in plain language.
Water electrolysis produces hydrogen and oxygen in a fixed 2:1 molecular ratio. The PEM membrane keeps the two gas streams physically separated inside the machine — so the hydrogen outlet delivers pure H₂ and the oxygen outlet delivers pure O₂. You choose how to use them:
Hydrogen only
Cannula on the hydrogen outlet. Pure H₂ at the rated flow — the standard daily configuration.
Combined H₂+O₂ (2:1)
Y-connector joins both outlets at the cannula. Full combined flow at the ratio electrolysis produces naturally.
Two users, one machine
Dual cannula splits the hydrogen stream so two people share a single session. Available on selected models.
No lye. No contaminants. No consumables beyond distilled water and occasional cannula replacement.
Buying locally — how it differs from importing one yourself.
One AUD price, GST settled
You are invoiced in Australian dollars with GST included by an Australian entity, so there is no exchange-rate spread on your card, no import GST bill arriving later, and no customs brokerage or disbursement fee to pay before the carrier releases the machine. That is the practical difference between buying here and buying a cheaper-looking listing shipped in from overseas.
Delivery across the states and territories
Door-to-door tracked to every state and territory. Every address, metro or regional — including WA, Tasmania and the NT — is quoted 10 business days from dispatch. Tracking is issued the day the machine leaves.
Power and setup at home
Every machine is dual-voltage 100–240V and ships with the Australian Type I plug to AS/NZS 3112, ready for 240V / 50Hz supply — no adapter, no step-down transformer. Run it from a wall outlet on a hard, level surface with clearance around the vents, and use distilled water only.
Regulatory status
Hydrogen Machines products are general wellness devices. Australia does not currently recognise molecular hydrogen inhalation as a registered therapy, and these machines are not entered on the ARTG. We make no claim to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. We encourage you to conduct your own research and consult a qualified health professional before starting any new wellness routine.
Warranty, returns and your consumer rights
Every machine carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty and a 90-day return window from the day it arrives. On top of that, Australian Consumer Law statutory guarantees apply and cannot be contracted out of — a major failure entitles you to a repair, replacement or refund. Claims are assessed by us, in Australia, without a distributor in the middle.
