Hydrogen machine certifications explained
Short answer
Certifications such as CE, FCC, RoHS and ISO 9001 describe hardware safety, electromagnetic compatibility, restricted substances and manufacturing quality systems; they describe the equipment and how it is made, not medical or therapeutic status.
Certification marks are frequently used in hydrogen device marketing without explaining what each one covers. This page sets out the scope of each mark and separates hardware certification from independent purity testing.
What each mark covers
Each certification answers a specific engineering question about the product or the factory that built it.
- CE — conformity with applicable European product safety directives
- FCC — electromagnetic compatibility for the US market
- RoHS — restriction of specified hazardous substances in the hardware
- ISO 9001 — quality management system at the manufacturing site
- ISO 13485 — quality management system for device manufacturing where applicable
What certifications do not cover
None of these marks assesses health outcomes, and none of them makes a device a medical device. They are hardware and manufacturing standards. Hydrogen Machines products are general wellness devices and no diagnostic, treatment or disease claims are made.
Independent laboratory purity reports
Certification marks and gas purity measurement are separate questions. Independent laboratory reports measure the actual output of a specific unit under stated conditions, which is a different form of evidence from a factory quality certificate.
Questions to ask a supplier
Ask which certificate applies to the exact model being sold, who issued it, when it was issued, and whether the purity figure quoted is self-reported or independently measured.
