Our verdict

Winner: HydrogenMachines™ — HydrogenMachines™ delivers the strongest combination of purity, reliability, and daily wellbeing experience.

Independently lab-verified 99.991% hydrogen purity — not just claimed, confirmed. QTT report LH2025050017 / 18.
Verification, not technology, is the difference

HERO uses PEM/SPE electrolysis, which separates hydrogen at the membrane and is inherently free of ozone and mixed-gas byproducts. Takadyn's oxy-hydrogen units deliver a combined H₂/O₂ stream, so the two are not the same gas-delivery class — but neither point is a purity claim in itself. What is different is verification: HERO's purity figures come from an independent lab report you can ask to see. Most competitor pages, including Takadyn's, state a purity percentage with no named lab or report behind it.

Oxyhydrogen vs pure hydrogen — what's the difference?

Some inhalation devices produce a 2:1 hydrogen-oxygen mixture — the natural ratio that results from electrolysing water without separating the two output streams. This mixture is sometimes called oxyhydrogen, HHO or "Brown's Gas".

Other devices, including the HERO Inhaler & HERO Inhaler Pro range, use a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) architecture that isolates the hydrogen stream from the oxygen stream at the cell level. Only pure H₂ is delivered to the user; the oxygen is vented separately.

This is a genuine technical distinction independent of any health claims. Different gas compositions may have different handling, storage and delivery considerations — for example, the flammability envelope of a stoichiometric 2:1 H₂:O₂ mixture is different from a pure hydrogen stream diluted by ambient air at the point of inhalation. Which architecture a buyer prefers is a matter of design philosophy and the operating envelope they want; this page does not judge either approach.

Understanding wellness vs therapeutic claims

Hydrogen inhalation devices — including both oxyhydrogen and pure-hydrogen designs — are sold globally into a genuinely high-price category. Claims that reference specific medical conditions or cite disease-specific research are a meaningfully different regulatory category from general wellness products.

The HERO Inhaler Pro 3000 and the rest of the Hydrogen Machines range are positioned under a general-wellness framing consistent with the FDA's General Wellness Policy in the US and equivalent frameworks elsewhere. No claims are made anywhere on this site that any product treats, cures, prevents or diagnoses any disease.

Certifications referenced for our products — FCC Part 15 Subpart B compliance for electromagnetic interference, and ISO 13485 as the manufacturing quality-system standard the factory operates under — describe the hardware and how it is built. They are not medical or therapeutic status indicators.

When comparing across brands in this category, it is worth reading each product's own marketing carefully and asking whether the language used matches the regulatory positioning you're comfortable with.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Oxyhydrogen is the gas mixture produced when water is split by electrolysis without separating the resulting streams — approximately two parts hydrogen (H₂) to one part oxygen (O₂) by volume, the natural ratio of water (H₂O). This is sometimes called "Brown's Gas" or HHO. Pure-hydrogen inhalation devices use a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) or similar architecture to isolate the H₂ stream from the O₂ stream, so only hydrogen is delivered to the user.

Hydrogen and oxyhydrogen wellness devices are generally not FDA-approved as medical devices — FDA approval applies when a product is marketed for a specific medical purpose. In the US, general wellness devices are typically positioned under the FDA's General Wellness Policy, which covers products intended for general wellness use and not for diagnosing, treating, curing or preventing disease. Verify current status directly with any manufacturer before purchase.

Oxy-hydrogen inhalers in the Southeast Asian market, including devices like the Takadyn, are typically sold at high-ticket import pricing — reported in the tens of thousands of ringgit or comparable regional currency. Pure-hydrogen inhalers in our range cover a much wider price band: the HERO Inhaler Go starts at USD $1,795 and the flagship HERO Inhaler Pro 3000 is USD $5,697.

The Takadyn produces an oxyhydrogen mixture (2:1 H₂:O₂), delivered as a combined stream. The HERO Inhaler Pro 3000 produces pure hydrogen only — 2,000 ml/min of pure H₂ across two independent outlets, with the oxygen stream vented separately. The HERO Inhaler Pro 3000 is manufactured to ISO 13485 quality-system standards, is FCC Part 15 Subpart B compliant, and is positioned as a general wellness device with no disease or treatment claims. Delivered price is USD $5,697 with free worldwide delivery.

A spec-sheet comparison, not a claim

Hydrogen Machines is a general wellness equipment brand. Nothing on this page is a therapeutic or medical claim. Our products are general wellness devices, not FDA-approved or FDA-cleared medical devices, and they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
