PEM electrolysis in one paragraph
A proton exchange membrane separates the anode and cathode of an electrolysis cell. Water is split, hydrogen appears at the cathode, oxygen at the anode. The membrane is what keeps the two gas streams separated.
What determines quality
Membrane grade, electrode design, stack sealing, water feed and power electronics — all as a system, not individually.
