Hydrogen inhalation

Quick summary

Hydrogen inhalation is a general wellness modality in which molecular hydrogen gas produced by a PEM/SPE electrolysis cell is breathed through a nasal cannula during a seated session.

  • The defining specification is hydrogen flow rate in millilitres per minute.
  • Flow figures should state whether they describe pure hydrogen or a hydrogen-oxygen mixture.
  • Sessions are passive and apply no heat, pressure or light.

Definition

Hydrogen inhalation describes breathing molecular hydrogen (H₂) generated on demand by an electrolysis cell, delivered at low pressure through a nasal cannula. No gas is stored in a cylinder; the machine produces only what is used during the session.

Typical consumer sessions run twenty to sixty minutes and are entirely passive — the user sits, reads or works while the cannula delivers the gas stream.

Modality relevance

Inhalation is one of two primary consumer formats alongside hydrogen bathing. Inhalation is a targeted, seated session; bathing is whole-body and passive for the duration of the bath. The two are formats, not competing treatments.

Purity relevance

Because the gas is breathed, what leaves the machine matters. PEM/SPE cells separate hydrogen at a solid polymer membrane, and the output stream can be independently measured. Our inhalation systems have been purity-tested by a third-party laboratory (QTT reports LH2025050017 and LH2025050018). Purity describes hardware and manufacturing, not medical status.

Science relevance

Published research on molecular hydrogen examines oxidative-stress signalling and inflammatory markers. That literature is exploratory and is not a statement that any device produces a health outcome.
